How to read your score
| WPM | Level | Typical for |
|---|---|---|
| Under 30 | Beginner | New touch typists, hunt-and-peck typists |
| 30โ45 | Average | Most computer users |
| 45โ60 | Above average | Office and admin roles |
| 60โ80 | Professional | Data entry, transcription, support roles |
| 80+ | Expert | Top few percent of typists |
One minute is the standard length because it balances warm-up and fatigue: long enough to measure real speed, short enough to retake. For the most honest score, take the test three times and use your middle result. Want a higher number next month? The 13-lesson course rebuilds your technique from the home row up.
